Ayatana are a three-piece band, from Manchester, playing bluesy hard rock with a groove. This music takes inspiration from 60’s and 70’s bands but is fuzzed up by the influence of more recent ‘grunge’ and ‘desert’ bands of the 90’s. The trio’s sound is based around riffs combined with jam sections, improvisation, and concluded with melodic vocals. Ayatana is fronted by Mike Brotherton, who is responsible for the guitar, vocals and song-writing. They are completed by the rhythm section of Matt Fitzpatrick on bass and Dan Leigh on the drums.
