‘Let’s all drink to the Death of a Band’
Billy Ruffian met over house doubles and potent cocktails in a series of city centre dives, and their continuing existence can be compared to dancing on the deck of the Titanic.
With their mix of dandy pretention, wall-of-sound guitars, wailing trumpet and clattering drum machine, Billy Ruffian stand out from the Manchester crowd. After tantalising glimpses of success with Dead Men Win Fights, Nina Zero and Band(ism), core members Stephen Bray (Vocals), Thom Cuell (Guitar) and Paul-Ben Paul (Bass) have pooled their resources to create an exciting new musical force.
The band have picked up positive reviews from Manchester Music, Sandman magazine and others after storming gigs at Academy 3, Star and Garter, Tiger Lounge, and further afield in Leeds, Liverpool and London. They have also featured on ALL FM and Fuse FM.
Now signed to indie label Filthy Little Angels, the band will deliver their debut album ‘My Secret Life’ in May 2007.
