One of only a handful of local bands selected for the official line-up, COHESION showcase their uplifting and emotive guitar pop at this year’s In The City Unsigned. But Cohesion sound anything like just another ‘Manchester band’, drawing frequent comparisons with early REM and U2, as well as Merseyside acts like Echo & The Bunnymen and The Coral.
Andrew O’Hara’s soaring vocal lines crown their irrestistibly upbeat melodies and driving rhythms as he recounts lost love and domestic strife with an immutable sense of optimism. The four-piece deliver a sound that is instantly appealing without being derivative or clichéd; that has enough strength of character to endure the latest fads, whilst reflecting the vitality of their chart-topping contemporaries.
