Duty Now have been making music where once there was nothing for a little while now. The music that comes out of them is generally pretty exciting, sometimes a bit scary, often quite catchy with it. It is generally agreed they are;
1) Improving
2) Quite loud. Louder than you’d expect.
Beyond that there is only conjecture. Take a listen or even better come to a show (if there was a third point of agreement it would probably be that they are currently better live than on anything they’ve recorded so far) and make up your own mind. Other people have described them as post-rock, post-punk, indie, prog, a bunch of closet goths, dub-reggae cockteases, jazz and ‘a Mancunian Sigur Ros’.
None of these are entirely appropriate.
