Loose Stencil draws from an unfathomable well of influence and musicianship. Their style is esoteric yet accessible, thoughtfully combining acoustic and electronic sounds. Whilst sometimes experimental, their music is always melodious.

The first release, Karoshi, captures Loose Stencil’s sound and style as it evolves - being an anthology of songs and ideas recorded with a number of collaborators.

The Fires at the End will Cleanse, a 4-track EP adopted a song-based approach, whilst developing the cinematic style glimpsed on Karoshi.

In March 2009 Loose Stencil release their strongest work. Infinite Still sets keyboard, guitar and vocals within ambient tones and textures. It explores the dark and light of life by encouraging personal contemplation and meditation.

Loose Stencil will make their stage debut at The Met Bury on 06.03.09.

No news for sometime…

Contrary to the previous post Loose Stencil are still to make their live debut…however this will soon be rectified when they appear at The Met, Bury on 06.03.09.

Our involvement with Manchester Records ended sometime ago and we are currently acting indepently.

We have some interesting projects planned details of which will appear on our website (to be launched by March 09)

Loose Stencils live debut scheduled 10th August at Jabez Clegg. The night celebrates the launch of label-mates Jealous EP release.

We’ve gathered some great musicians together to translate our studio recordings across to stage.

In other news, we’ve started work on our as yet untitled album which will be released on Manchester Records sometime next year.

Karoshi will be available from Vibes record shop in Bury from 02.04.07. We’re also looking at getting it into one or two independents in Manchester.

Nearly there!

In what can only be described as "incredible periods of inactivity" the two naughty boys behind Listen To have finally got their fingers out and created the all new Listen To Manchester. Over the next few months we'll be adding loads of new features, but we'd love your help with the site as it stands right now.

So if you spot any problems, or have anything to say at all about the new site (comments, criticisms, great ideas that we can steal and become millionaires with) then get in touch!
