In May 2010 Music Crowns teamed up with trendy cider brand St Helier of Intercontinental Brands to create a mutually beneficial partnership based on concept/product growth.
MD of IC Brands John Mills said of the concept: "We are delighted, but not surprised at the high level of entries into the first ever St Helier Music Crowns. One of the things that attracted us to the Music Crowns proposal was the amazing line up of judges that the organisers had secured for each category, all of whom show that the initiative has been taken very seriously by some of the most inspirational people in the music industry. Now its the public’s turn to vote and we look forward to finding out who they think deserves the coveted St Helier Music Crowns!!".
Sam Gilbert, Co-Founder of the Music Crowns concept was, in contrast, stunned at the standard of this year’s contestants: "The calibre of entrants we have had in our inaugural year is amazingly high, it was an extremely tough decision for our judging committee who streamlined hundreds of entries to reach the final 10 verdicts.β
Co-Founder Adrian Smith adds: βSt Helier Music Crowns has become one of the largest unsigned act competitions in the UK and Ireland over the past 8 months, a feat that we are very proud of, we offer a platform for unsigned talent to submit their original music and be evaluated by some of the most respected names in the industry.β
St Helier Music Crowns 2011 will begin the intake of new artists in January next year and promises to be an enhanced and evolved format with a ‘live’ performance within the voting stage a prospect.
