SAÓLIS is an underground Alt.Rock band formed in Manchester, UK by James Dazell [The only official member of SAÓLIS] Embodying roles of singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer.
Saolis combines alt.rock guitar, sludge metal bass, piano and classical strings, electronic beats and rock drums, power-electronic noise, glitch, and elements of music concrete. Lyrically adheres to verse chorus verse and songs are more letters, choosing to sing Dazell’s prose-poetry than to sing rhyming verse-chorus-verse lyrics. Vocally, as well as singing, Dazell often uses breathing, moans, screams and shouts, which can prove better hooks than lyrics.
Dazell also has other solo-projects. an electronic project, and an experimental project. and welcomes collaborations with artists of different genres.
