The Deodates are an impassioned working class Salfordian Punk n’ Soul duo. Gary and Tom create raw, uncompromising music with an emphasis on memorable hooks and melodies, taking inspiration and influence from Prince, The White Stripes, Marvin Gaye, The Clash, Curtis Mayfield and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The band formed in April 2006 and following an inspired rash of song creation, recorded their eponymous debut EP just two months later. Description? Think Prince in a punk band or perhaps Al Green, if he discovered the electric guitar instead of God. The duo setup forces a rethink of expected song structures at times but those unforgettable hooks remain.
The Deodates are staking their claim one person, one venue and one town at a time.
