THE HISTORY: The band came together in the summer of 2006, writing and practising in the sweltering heat of an old warehouse in the kaleidoscopic Northern Quarter of Manchester. Over the following year, they developed a strong and original style, playing numerous venues around the northwest, growing a significant local following. The Gnome Genome exists to create music of cinematic proportions, enveloping many diverse structural concepts and emotions to create an original sound.
THE MUSIC: ‘A fusion of new prog, post-rock landscapes and new wave, combined with a dreamy electro feel and a funky Manchester vibe. Music spanning a range of influences drawn from everyday experiences - from the mundane to the emotional, delivered via a surreal futuristic route…’
THE BAND: The Murcott (Lead guitar), Danko Johnson (Vocals, Guitar, Bass), Jack Boddington (Drums) and Hugo Gnome (Bass, Vocals, Guitar).
