However in this instance it spells fun several times in a row. Somewhere between 60s garage rock, The Beach Boys and maybe The Banana Splits lie The Mekkits. A rough production cements that 60s garage feel which is taken to another echelon by playful multilayered harmonies. Like The Beach Boys, complex and catchy vocal arrangements make up the majority of The Mekkits appeal. There are also a fair few surprises on board manifesting in sharp twists.
